Why a festival?

Simply put, because Arizona is a leader in science, technology and innovation - and that should be celebrated!

The Arizona SciTech Festival is geared to help address Arizona’s education, economic and workforce needs. Arizona’s state and local leaders support this event as a powerful vehicle for leveraging productive synergy among stakeholders in the scientific, educational, and business communities to increase the output of future leaders/innovators in STEM. Furthermore, this festival will create awareness of the strong relationship between the Arizona’s strengths in research and technology and the immense potential it offers Arizona in the future.

What is the Arizona SciTech Festival all about?

Science Festivals do for science what film festivals do for films. They offer activities and events that engage, inspire and spark imagination across entire communities. Through diverse programming encompassing conversations, debates and forums; practical or hands-on workshops, displays and exhibitions; broadcasts, concerts and plays; site visits, guided walks and tours, Arizonans will develop a first hand understanding of the importance of science and technology to Arizona’s past, present and future. The best part? Everyone will have access to the Arizona SciTech Festival, as activities and events will take place in a variety of settings -- on school, college and university campuses; in libraries, museums, and civic buildings; in cafes and restaurants; in commercial or industrial facilities; in parks and public squares. No matter where you are located or who you are - there will be events and activities that will awe and inspire you.

Is the Arizona SciTech Festival for Families? Children? Teens? Adults? Professionals?

The festival is for everyone! There are some programs specifically for kids and families, some just for teens and some just for adults and science professionals and some that offer general appeal. See our complete list of events on this site.

Sounds like a field trip! Can I bring my class?

Absolutely! We would love to have your class at the festival. Just be sure to check to see if reservations are required due to space limitations. Speaking of teaching, check out our resources for educators.

Is it free or do I have to pay?

The Arizona SciTech Festival is mostly free and open to the public! There are one or two events (out of nearly 200) that require a fee. These events are clearly marked on this site and in our program book, so you will know when a fee is present.

How do I get there?
